Donahue, Parks share ACC low gross honors

On a cool, windy night, a pair of 37’s from Cory Donahue and Spencer Parks were good enough to win low gross at the ACC Men’s League.

Donahue and Parks, both substituting for other teams, fired 2-over rounds on the front nine.

Ed Strommen broke 40, shooting a 4-over round of 39 that adjusted to a net score of 29, the lowest on the night by a large margin.

Strommen used a deuce on No. 2 to help him to his score, but had to split the deuce pot with four others as the par three’s scored low¬†on Tuesday night.

Bob Mehrens, Frank Moreni, Jim Solan and James Van Vynck all put two’s on their scorecards as well.

Tim Krum not only won the 50/50 after golf, he also stuck a shot within five feet on No. 3 to win the closest to the pin contest on the night.

Locker Room/Haufbrau scored at least five points in all of their individual matches for a team total of 24, good enough to jump out to an early lead after one week of second half play.

Carmel’s Sports Bar sit in second with 23.5 points, one point clear of first half winners S&N Concrete, who are tied in third place with Pad-N-Pencil.
