Haffey wins big at ACC Men’s League

The sun shined and so did Aaron Haffey Tuesday night at the ACC Men’s League. Haffey fired off a 2-over par round of 37, good enough to earn him a share of both the low gross and low net.

In the gross competition, Haffey split with Brian Boynton at 2-over. Kyle Zimmerman shot a round of 45, net 30, that also matched Haffey’s handicap adjusted score.

Frank Moreni, Greg Manson and Brian Robbins all had deuces on the night. Moreni slid in a difficult birdie putt on the second hole, while Manson’s deuce helped him to a nice round of 41.

The closest to the pin competition was Moreni’s to win as well, but Mike Kelly came along an one upped him. Kelly hit a blind shot over the bush in the middle of No. 7 to inside of five feet for the honors.

Locker Room/Haufbrau maintained the overall team lead at the halfway point with 69 total points. Thompson’s Bar matched the best score of the week with 24.5 to climb within a point and a half of the leaders.

Carmel’s Sports Bar, S&N Concrete and ABC/Coors Light round out the top five with 65, 64 and 63.5 points, respectively.
