A combined effort from a number of Anaconda agencies and locals who know the game of Pickleball are joining forces to give it a try. Starting on Friday, July 31 during Alive After Five in downtown Anaconda, MSU Extension director Abbie Phillip will be having a demonstration of the game to hopefully spur some interest.
Pickleball was created in 1965 and is a hybrid of badminton, tennis and ping pong. In 1984, the USAPA was formed and created an official rule book according to the release.
The Anaconda Community Intervention program staff along with Anaconda Family Resource Center have partnered with MSU Extension in order to mentor prospective players. If you are interested in learning more about Pickleball, call Philip at 563-4036.
